Nisyros is a small and quiet Greek island located in the Dodecanese region of Greece. It remains undiscovered by mass tourism and is famous for its volcano and hillside terraces. It lies between the islands of Kos and Tilos and the promontory of Knidos of Asia Minor.

The small mountainous town of Emborios is found 8 kms south east of the capital and just a short distance from it is the monastery of Our Virgin Lady which is built on a hill 500m high and offers a panoramic view. To the south is Nikia in which is found the remarkable monastery of St. John.

The beautiful beach side settlement of Pali is situated some 4kms north east of the capital. With about 100 inhabitants, the small harbour village of Pali is very peaceful and picturesque. The are only 5 restaurants, which are all open during the entire day and a mini market where basic necessities can be bought. Pali is known for its beautiful 'family' beach, with 'thick', soft sand and shallow waters, ideal for families with children. For those who seek privace or a or nudist beach, Lies Beach or Pachia Beach, are only 10 minutes away from Pali.
At last, the island's paths are ideal for trekking lovers. Lastly, the island has a very rich fauna and flora that specialists have pronounced to be unique.
